As a specialized physician, a haematologist treats disorders of the blood. These can include many different conditions, and a haematologist must be knowledgeable enough to treat all of the different types, which may include disorders with blood cells, bone marrow, and the vascular system in general.
As haematologists are specialists in blood disorders they may work with patients who have everything from anaemia to cancer to sickle cell disease, and everything in between. They work as any other type of physician to begin the process by consulting with their patients to understand their symptoms and gather valuable information. They are often referred by primary care physicians as a specialist in this field is required for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan, so they may also utilize physician's notes and records in the treatment of their patients.

Haematologist may spend some of their time in a laboratory, looking at the blood samples collected from their patients. They use this to form the basis of their diagnosis and may have to perform a great deal of research as part of their job responsibilities. Haematologists may prescribe and perform many different tests, procedures, and blood work to gather as much information as they can on their patient to ensure that an appropriate diagnosis is provided. They work with their patients every step of the way to understand what the condition is and what the prognosis and associated treatment plan is. Haematologists may perform surgeries as part of a patient's treatment plan.

Haematologist must run their practice as any other physician would. If they are part of a smaller staff or practice or if they run their own, haematologists must handle all business aspects, including the management of their staff. If they work as part of a larger group or at a hospital directly, they may be involved in committees or research initiatives. Though haematology is a specialization, some of the responsibilities are the same as any other type of physician.

Qualifications/Experience

There is a rather extensive educational requirement for haematologists.
They must complete medical school and gain a license, as any other type of doctor would.
Beyond that, they must receive an advanced degree in haematology, as this is their focus.
Haematologists may even declare and focus on a specialization beyond haematology, such as paediatrics if they wish to treat children with blood disorders.
A student of haematology must travel a long road to fulfill all of the educational requirements for this specialization, sometimes taking up to ten years.
It is important to keep up with the licensing requirements, which may vary by state.
There is usually an ongoing training requirement of some sort so that the haematologist keeps current within their field. It is expected that most hematologists will attend industry events, workshops, or seminars to keep up with new trends or findings so that they can better serve their patients.
While on-the-job training comes with experience, any additional training can help to keep an haematologist competitive and in the best capacity to serve their patients.
Skills in Human Relations.
Good listening and communication skills.

A radiologist is a medical doctor who is trained in executing and interpreting medical images such as x-rays, CT scans, ultrasounds, and MRIs and using them to treat health problems in patients. Radiologists perform image-guided procedures but do not normally handle the general medical needs of a patient. Instead, a radiologist is a specialist who uses the tools of his or her trade to make a diagnosis for a patient, then presents the results to the patient's physician.

The most common tool a radiologist uses is the x-ray. An x-ray is an image taken by using a machine to beam radiation through a patient's body onto a radiation-sensitive plate after carefully covering other portions of the patient's body with lead shields. Radiologists normally employ radiological technicians to do the actual x-ray photography, but they are trained in the photography process as well.

Other devices that radiologists use in their work include Computer Tomography (CT) scanners, which take cross-sectional x-ray pictures of the human body and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machines, which use magnets and radio waves to create a picture of the inside of the human body. Radiologists may specialize in nuclear medicine, therapeutic radiology, interventional radiology or other sub-specialities.

Qualifications/Experience
Because radiologists are fully-licensed medical doctors, they must undergo a minimum of 11 years of education, beginning with a bachelor's degree that is heavily weighted toward biology and physics requirements, such as a premedical degree.
After completing the Medical College Admission Test and being admitted, prospective radiologists must complete four years of medical school in an accredited medical program.
During this period, a prospective radiologist must sit for two Medical Licensing Examinations by the National Board of Medical Examiners.
After graduating from medical school, prospective radiologists must complete a final medical licensing examination during the first year of their residency, or medical internship.
Most residencies last 3-5 years, after which radiologists sit for examinations to become board certified.

Candidate would be responsible for providing cardiac consultation, performing and interpreting stress tests, and reading echo/carotid/aortic doppler studies

Qualifications/Experience
Candidates must have an MD (or equivalent) degree and, though most opportunities require board certification (BC) in cardiology, some will accept candidates who have successfully completed their speciality education, but have not taken the cardiology certification exam.
Due to a cardiologist's lengthy and intense training, both theoretical and practical, degreed candidates are assumed to be being skilled in the evaluation and treatment of cardiology patients.
In addition, years of work experience is not a primary factor for most opportunities, though it will come into play later in a career if moving into a more senior (director) role.

7.)  Consultant, Radiologist (Ref. 007)

Location:
Lagos

Responsibilities
The consultant needs to respond by promptly evaluating the patient, concisely documenting his findings, and communicating his recommendations to the referring physician. As described by Bates, the ideal medical consultant will "render a report that informs without patronizing, educates without lecturing, directs without ordering, and solves the problem without making the referring physician appear to be stupid". The consultant should try to support the referring physician and comfort the patient. By following these guidelines, the consultant will be more effective in providing useful, informative advice likely to result in enhanced compliance with the recommendations and improved patient outcome.
